It is hard to believe that little Nasio has just had his twelfth birthday! Where did the time go?! He is still doing well under the love and care of Aunty FA in the family compound in Carlton Carew. Since my the last update, Nasio has graduated to Class 4 at the 'Freetown Modern Preparatory School', where he has been attending for 3 years! He is well settled into this school, and although he is still a little behind for his age group, he is steadily making good progress. Nasio still has a passion for playing football, and I hear that he has become quite the little player!
Makia and Satu are also growing up quickly! Both are making excellent progress in their schools and have both recently graduated into Class 3. Makia is now attending the 'El-Shadie Preparatory School' and her teachers have such positive feedback on her performance. She has grown such confidence over the past few years and I was so pleased to see hear that she has made lots of new friends in her new school. Satu, now attending the 'Murry-town Army Municipal School', absolutely loves school, and has also really gained a lot of confidence during the past year. Both girls are so bubbly and cheerful, and are now enjoying having younger children in FA's compound to play with.
Over the past 6 years, for every Easter and Christmas holiday I would take FA and all the children to the beach. This was always one of the highlights of my year! Sadly, as I just left Sierra Leone to move back to the UK, I will not be able to go this year - however, rest assured, FA will still be taking them in my absence so they won't miss out. Attached are a few photo's from our beach outing in April 2013, and of the kids and my wedding in June. Even though I am no longer based in Sierra Leone, I will be a frequent visitor, and continue to check in with FA on a regular basis.
All in all, it has been another successful year for the foundation. As always, we continue to be grateful for all the generous support we have received for the Nasio Foundation, and welcome donations to continue to improve the lives Nasio , Makia and Satu.
Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas, FA, Jason, Aisling and Laura.
